The Frame
In the spirit of my analysis of MURDER PSALM and the subsequent screening of CLEPSYDRA, here is a PDF copy of an article that I first wrote for the METEOR Film Journal (Vienna) when the editor (thank you, Claus) asked me to muse upon a single frame of a film for a brief essay in film aesthetics. We then expanded it (thanks to Grahame, Tony and Paul) with several photos for Millennium Film journal, issue 35/36. I thought it would be useful as a study guide. Never heard from a single person on whether that was true and it remains my most neglected work. So much for close readings…
