What a treat! I can hardly wait for a full list of films in this volume. In Between? Blue Moses? The Text of Light? Elementary Phrases?

Now all we need is a Phil Solomon DVD.

I’m incredibly excited about this set, and particularly thrilled that ‘Visions in Meditation’ is included in it. It’s one of my favorite all-time films, and the opportunity to closely view/study it is really amazing.

I also second the above posters in both thanking you for your contribution to the release and hoping that you’ll be able to do a Phil Solomon Blu-ray release (and do it right, of course). That said, I’d be extremely happy just for the opportunity to watch all of ‘In Memoriam Mark LaPore’ again in the near future.

Thank you for your comments. This is a great gift from Marilyn Brakhage, who curated so thoughtfully and knowingly, and from producer Kate Elmore from Criterion, who showed remarkable sensitivity to the whole project. Once again, Stan is breaking new ground, and the blu ray release will start a tidal wave of fully realized accessibility for avant-garde film.

I am definitely going to put all of my efforts into making blu ray releases within the year. You might be interested to know that American Falls, my upcoming installation, will be on 6 blu ray discs, played in sync…

BTW, In Memoriam is going to be shown for the first time publicly as a 4 part work (with Crossroad being the prelude) at the upcoming Wisconsin Film Festival in Madison, playing with Mark LaPore’s great film, The Glass System.

Ah, if only I were anywhere near Wisconsin.

Are you screening any of your films at the Corcoran in conjunction with American Falls, or is it installation only? (Either way, I still make a trip down to DC, just curious, though).
